Surface A · A1 — the details

A1 stays the door. Two details to settle.

The warm “Good evening, Alex” greeting moves inside — it follows once you’re through, so the threshold itself stays calm. The opener can still rotate, a small reason to return.

1 · The top-of-door affordance — no label

It marks the pull-to-refresh and, ideally, glances the status. Which reads cleanest?

Chevron only

Implies the pull gesture. No status — quietest, but a glance tells you nothing.

Status circle (rec.)

Hollow grey ring = all well. Fills oxblood only if something needs you. Doubles as the pull handle.

Circle + chevron

Status glance plus an explicit pull hint. Most informative, slightly busier.

all well — barely there
needs you — oxblood, glanceable

2 · Red as touch & selection — tap these

Press feedback. Tap “Enter” — oxblood blooms on contact, then recedes. Red spent for a heartbeat, never sitting loud.

Enter

Selection. Tap a chip — the chosen one carries the oxblood, the rest stay quiet greys. Red = “this one.”

Dark Paper System

Pick a top-affordance above (I’ve pre-selected the status circle). And tell me — does the red tap/selection feel right as a brand behaviour to write into the guide? Next I’ll define how the unavoidable Cloudflare Access screen gets matched to this, then we move to B · the voice states.
