Surface D · The tick that measures & grows

Tap a line — the tick lengthens to show the time

Copper text, locked. The oxblood tick now spans exactly your message’s lines — short for one line, taller for two. Tap a line (try both) and the tick grows by a line as the sent time eases in. Tap again to put it away.

What’s on your mind?

The tick’s behaviour

  • At rest — height = your message’s text lines, nothing more
  • On tap — grows by one line as the sent time eases in (0.28s)
  • Tap again — collapses back; the time is there only when you want it
  • The movement is the reveal — small, deliberate, earned

  • You mentioned more interactivity reminders to add once this is in — send them over and I’ll layer them onto this surface.

Tap both lines (the one-liner and the two-liner) to feel the tick measure and grow. If that’s right, D’s core is settled — fire over the rest of the interactivity reminders and I’ll fold them in before we write the brand & design guide.
